SUMMER FEST FAMILY FUN
Make it a three-day magical midsummer at the Arboretum!
Stop by July 16–17 to watch artists Maria Bullock and Erin Cox bring our Willow Village to life as they weave three child-sized wigwams right before your eyes. It’s a rare chance to see creativity in action—and a fun experience for all ages.
Then come back on July 18 for Summer Fest, where imagination takes over! Dive into hands-on crafting for kids and grown-ups alike—create whimsical willow wands, charming fir cone gnomes, and more. Add your creations to the Willow Village or take a bit of the magic home with you.
Plus, enjoy favorite Summer Fest traditions like face painting and playful photo boards. Yay Big ice cream will be back, and we will have free ice cream coupons while they last. It’s a joyful celebration of creativity, community, and summer—perfect for the whole family.
Sedums with Sandy Milam
Sandy Milam, co-creator of the Arboretum’s bowl gardens, will lead this hands-on demonstration. Sedums and succulents in general are the drought tolerant work horses of the summer garden. Fall Container Planting Demo with Dee Drake, CPH
This is a free demonstration with Dee Drake, CPH and co-curator of our completely re-imagined Backyard Garden. For 20 years, Dee worked as grower for the City of Everett growing, planting and maintaining hanging baskets and container pots with her team. Dee will walk you through the process of creating exciting fall container displays. From planning a trip to your local nursery to aspects of design, display, color and care, Dee will provide you with the design rules and tools to garner admiration for your green thumb well into winter.

Autumn Fest Family Fun
Autumnfest is a new family fun event at the Arboretum, open to all ages. It’s free to attend so bring the whole family! Participants will enjoy face painting with Imagine Children’s Museum staff, planting spring-flowering bulbs in the Arboretum, creating bright leaf luminaries and planting unique sedum pumpkin centerpieces! Extra bulbs go home for planting in your own garden. Dress for the weather and come prepared to have fun!
