Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens in Everett is delighted to announce a new event: Deck the Boughs.
Running throughout December, Deck the Boughs invites the community to enjoy a daytime holiday experience as we decorate our trees with handcrafted ornaments—no lights required. Open to the public during Park Hours: 6 AM to dusk.
Natural ornaments: The Arboretum will be adorned with ornaments crafted by workshop participants and the community—natural, handcrafted, and uniquely expressive.
Community built and community owned: We’re inviting hands-on community participation! On Sunday, November 9, join us for three workshops to create stars and other ornaments from willow, cattail, and bulrush. You’ll take one home—and donate extras to decorate the Arboretum’s trees. See our workshop listing under Classes & Events.
Wish Tree: While visiting in December, stop by the Arboretum’s gazebo to write a personal holiday wish on a tag and tie it to our Wish Tree.
Deck the Boughs Sunrise Solstice Walk: Welcome winter at 7:53 AM on December 21 with a Sunrise Solstice Walk to celebrate the shortest day of the year.
Solstice Crafting & Treats: Also on December 21, from 10 AM to Noon, enjoy crafting pine cone gnomes and crowns made from natural materials. Complimentary luminary bags will be provided to take home, celebrating the longest night of the year!
By bringing the holiday display into daylight hours, Deck the Boughs allows families, senior guests, and daytime visitors to experience seasonal wonder without concern for evening schedules or weather.
