Summer Care of Japanese Maples

Trevor Cameron, from Sunnyside Nursery


Learn about Japanese Maples - the tree for all seasons. With hundreds of varieties in an array of foliage, textures, colors, and growth habits, there is a maple for every spot in the garden. Trevor will demonstrate pruning and proper maintenance. He will also have a few trees for sale

Putting Your Garden to Bed
Oct 19th, Sat, noon to 1pm


Wink Cushman, Master Gardener & past president of the Arboretum


Just like their human counterparts, plants need rest, shelter from the cold & wind and nutrition. Wink will show you how to get your garden ready for rain as well as temperature swings.                                                                                                Meet at the Arboretum entrance


 




Natural Centerpieces for the Holidays
Nov 16th, Sat, noon to 1pm


Marylou Hart, Arboretum board member and Master Gardener


Participate in a hands-on demonstration, creating holiday centerpieces with greenery from your backyard. Bring a container, some greenery and any extras like a candle or ribbon. You will go home with your own creation. Additional greenery will be provided.

Arboretum Gift-Making Workshop for Kids
Dec 7th, Sat, noon to 2pm


Hap Wertheimer, Past Arboretum president and art teacher


Bring your creativity to this drop-in two hour workshop and go home with several gifts for the holidays. Projects are appropriate for children ages 6-12. Parents are welcome to participate.
